Title: Names, Essay

Jan 18, 2008

Names

"Wow…you’re such a weirdo!" said a boy in my class. My friend Emily and I have always been called weird, crazy, or loco. We’ve gotten used to it, but what some people don’t know is that sometimes it still hurts. We haven’t quite "matured" yet, but it’s no reason to make fun of us. Still we just are ourselves. Just to get the people to go away, we try to be funny. Example: "Thank You!" or "Really?" or even "I didn’t notice!” But what some people don’t think about, is how do you know it doesn’t hurt? Maybe we go home and cry, you don’t know! I think that the "name caller" should put their feet into the other person’s shoes, just to see how it feels. If you do call someone a name, think before you speak. Think about how they feel.
