"I Can Make a Difference!" - Poem
By Lia Grabowski, Age 11

Jan 06, 2006

Never wanted to come to school today.
Can’t remember when I felt another way.
Being bullied really is no fun.
Getting teased about the way I dress or the way I look.
Feeling awful all the time.
Always scared out of my mind.
Trying hard to forget this.
Better just move on…

Stop teasin’ me.
Don’t call me names.
You don’t bother me any more because…
I know that I can do a lot!
I CAN make a difference!
And I WILL make a difference!
I know I can because…

I can’t take it anymore!
I’ve seen it happen before.
You tease a bunch of people.
You know that it’s mean.
But everyone’s too scared to stand up to you.

But not me, not me.
No, no
Not me
I’m self-confident,
Self-respecting!
And I feel I can do anything.
I know I am beautiful
I won’t be treated like this!
I’m practically a force of nature!
I am reliable and in control.
I will see that your bullying stops here!

Because I CAN make a difference!
And I WILL make a difference!
Because you can’t make me feel bad anymore!
