Yesterday
Yesterday in the Girls' Room,
As I was fixing my hair
I witnessed something that just wasn't right,
I knew it was unfair
You see, also in the Girls' Room,
Was a girl I didn't know
She had just transferred to this school
This girl was very quiet
She wore some different clothes
Unlike the designer ones
That most other people chose
Some of my friends walked into the bathroom,
And I knew they would be cruel,
But I was afraid to make them stop
'Cause they'd think I was uncool
My friends made fun of the girl,
And a tear rolled down her cheek
As they laughed right in her face,
And made her feel so weak
I froze in utter silence,
And shuddered at the sight
Of my friends bullying the girl
I just knew it wasn't right
But instead of helping out the girl,
Which I knew I should have done,
I joined my friends in teasing her
Even though it was not fun
Now I have this feeling
Of terrible regret
My friends are very happy,
But I just feel upset
As I walked into the hallway,
The girl was passing by
I was gonna say "I'm sorry"
That I had made her cry
But the girl just kept on walking
At a very angry pace,
With a sadness in her heart,
And a pout upon her face
Now I'm resenting what I did
In the Girls' Room yesterday
I look right at the girl,
But she looks the other way
So the advice I have to give you
Is don't join in with friends
If they are being bullies,
'Cause you'll regret it in the end
